Speak Out Against Domestic

To mark the 98th International Women's Day, Avon has launched the Avon Empowerment necklace to raise funds for and awareness of domestic violence.

Violence against women is a serious issue in Canada
Half of Canadian women (51%) have experienced at least one incident of physical or sexual violence since the age of 16.(1)

One to two women are murdered by a current or former partner each week in Canada.(2)

Spousal violence makes up the single largest category of convictions involving violent offences in non-specialized adult courts in Canada with the majority of offenders being male. (3)

All Canadian proceeds from the Empowerment necklace will go to organizations which provide awareness of and support women affected by domestic violence and to the United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM).
